Who we are
The mvmt app is operated by LAUREN SCHRAMM FITNESS LLC ("we", "us"), 275 S 5th Street, Floor 5, Brooklyn, NY 11211. Questions about this policy: lauren@themvmt.co.
What we collect, and why
We collect only what a booking needs.
What — Why — Where it lives
Mobile phone number — It is how you sign in, and where class reminders are sent — Our database; Twilio delivers the messages
First and last name — Acuity Scheduling requires it to create the appointment — Our database; Acuity
Email address — Acuity requires it, and sends your booking confirmations — Our database; Acuity
Classes you book, cancel and attend — To show you your classes and to run the studio — Our database; Acuity
Payment card details — To take payment for a class — Stripe only. We never see or store your card number.
Ratings and comments you leave — To help the studio improve its classes — Our database
Notification token for your device — To send push notifications, if you turn them on — Our database; Expo delivers the notifications
Marketing consent — To know whether you want studio news by text — Our database
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, your health or fitness data, or any advertising identifier. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and there is no analytics or advertising SDK in the app.
Who else processes your information
Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace) — the studio's scheduling system, and the system of record for the class timetable and your appointments.
Stripe — payments. Card details go from your device to Stripe directly.
Supabase — our database and sign-in, hosted in the United States.
Twilio — delivers sign-in codes, class reminders, and studio news texts.
Expo — delivers push notifications.
Vercel — hosts the app's server.
Each of these processes your information on our instructions, to provide the service. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we never have.
Text messages
There are two different kinds, and they are treated differently:
Sign-in codes and class reminders are part of using the app. They are sent to everyone with a booking, and there is no way to opt out of them while keeping an account — a reminder for a class you paid for is part of the thing you bought.
Studio news and offers are optional. They are off by default. You turn them on in Profile & Settings, and you can turn them off there, or by replying STOP to any of them.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
Push notifications
Off unless you turn them on. The toggle is in Profile & Settings, and turning it off stops all of them. Turning it off also removes the notification token for your device from our database.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile & Settings → Delete account. Two taps, no email required.
When you delete your account:
Any classes you have booked in the future are cancelled. The normal cancellation policy applies — a full refund if the class is at least 12 hours away, no refund if it is sooner.
Your profile, phone number, notification settings and sign-in are deleted.
Ratings you left are kept but anonymised: the star score survives so the studio's averages stay meaningful, and your name and any written comment are removed.
Records of what was paid are kept, with your name removed, because we are required to keep financial records. Stripe keeps its own record of the transaction.
One thing we cannot delete for you. Appointments you attended in the past still exist in Acuity Scheduling, the studio's booking system, and carry the name and email address they were made with. That is the studio's own record of who came to class, it predates this app, and the app has no way to remove it. If you want it removed, contact the studio directly at lauren@themvmt.co.
How long we keep things
Your profile lasts until you delete it. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, anonymised once the account is gone. Notification records are kept so we can tell what was sent and when.
Children
The app is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Deletion is built into the app; for anything else, email lauren@themvmt.co and we will respond.
If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
